On Friday, October 9th at 8.30pm at the PalaDozza in Bologna, Riccardo Muti will conduct the Orchestra Giovanile Luigi Cherubini. An extraordinary concert made thanks to the support of Alfasigma, the official sponsor of the event.
The Bologna Festival, a classical music festival of the Italian city, dedicates it to its beloved artistic director Mario Messinis, the musicologist and cultural organizer, director of 27 editions of the City Festival, from 1993 to 2019, who died in recent days. In the program, the famous Symphony "from the New World" by Dvořák and in pages of composers linked to the city of Bologna such as Giuseppe Martucci (Notturno op.70), Marco Enrico Bossi (Serenatina) and Ferruccio Busoni (Berceuse élégiaque op.42), the same ones that Mahler chose for his last concert directed in New York in 1911.
A tribute to the best Italian symphonic tradition, very much alive overseas, for an ideal tour of the globe in music between Europe and America.
